Village Clerk/ Treasurer
Village Treasurer
Under the general supervision of the Village Council -- and the direct supervision of the Village Manager -- the Village Treasurer oversees the collection and management of all monies owed to and held by the Village. Maintains accurate records of all income, receipts and disbursements; promptly deposits all receipts in approved institutions or funds; invests idle cash. The Village Treasurer also oversees utility billing and facility reservations. The Village Treasurer also acts as the Village Clerk in that person's absence.
Tax Information
Village taxes are calculated once a year, mailed July 1 and are due September 14. Tax and property information is available at www.ioniacounty.org through the online parcel information tool. Village taxes can be paid at the Page Building during normal business hours (8:30am to 4:30pm) or may be mailed to: Village of Lake Odessa, c/o Village Treasurer, 839 Fourth Avenue, Lake Odessa, MI 48849. Checks should be made payable to the Village of Lake Odessa. Taxes that remain unpaid after September 14th of each year are turned over to the Ionia County Treasurer's Office for collection and payment processing and payments can no longer be accepted by the Village of Lake Odessa. On September 15th of each year, a 4% penalty plus 1% interest per month will be added to the amount due for any uncollected taxes.
